At Island View Preschool we serve children from 6 months to 5 years old.

Our educational philosophy is rooted in a holistic approach to early childhood education, blending the best elements of Montessori and Reggio Emilia traditions and integrating outdoor classroom principles. We believe in nurturing the whole child—cognitively, emotionally, socially, and physically—through exploration, creativity, and connection to the natural world.

Our approach cultivates kind, capable, and curious children who feel empowered to contribute meaningfully to their community and the world.

Our Program

  • Child-Centered Learning

Inspired by Montessori, we encourage independence and self-directed learning, offering thoughtfully prepared environments that support hands-on discovery and skill development.

  • Collaboration and Creativity

Reggio Emilia influences guide our emphasis on collaborative learning, where children’s ideas and questions shape the curriculum, fostering critical thinking and creativity.

  • Imaginative Exploration

We celebrate the power of imagination, storytelling, and artistic expression to enrich learning experiences.

  • Connection to Nature

Daily integration of the natural world supports children’s innate curiosity, grounding their learning in sensory experiences and fostering environmental stewardship.
